What might a digital world look like in which collaboratively developed and openly accessible technologies strengthen the common good? What role could digital commons, such as open-source software, Wikipedia, or collaboratively managed data and AI infrastructures, play in this?
In the “Digital Commons 2040” foresight process, we are exploring various future scenarios together with experts from academia, civil society, business, politics, and technology. With the support of Foresight Intelligence, we are looking beyond existing thought patterns and examining how digital commons might develop by 2040.
